Princes Gate proving popular with city professionals and ‘lock up and leave’ buyers

Jan 2020

Princes Gate, the conversion of former HMRC offices in Solihull into luxury apartments by Elevate Property Group, is now over 60% sold.

The company said that the nine minute train journey into Birmingham was attracting young professionals working in the city, and the proximity to Birmingham Airport was appealing to the “lock up and leave” generation with properties abroad.

Sales and marketing director David Hofton revealed that the first phase of Princes Gate, Consort House, is already 100% sold and the second phase Royal House is already over 30% sold well before its completion in late October, with buyers set to move in during early November.

A new Waitrose is 200 metres from the development, Solihull Railway Station is 250 metres away and Touchwood Shopping Centre, with John Lewis and a huge selection of shops and restaurants, is within just a short stroll.

David Hofton added: “Train times as low as 1 hour 35 minutes into London Marylebone are also a significant attraction.”

Prices range from £162,500 to £385,000 and apartments include studio, one bedroom and two bedroom options.

The development’s flagship property, a large penthouse, has already been sold to a local purchaser.

This stunning 1,600 sq ft apartment comes with an additional 1,100 sq ft of roof terrace and with its southerly views of the Solihull skyline was offered with an asking price of £799,950 for what has been called the town’s best penthouse. Julia Evans, of selling agents Smart Homes, said the development was attracting a wide range of interest, from those seeking their first home, where Help to Buy is available, to downsizers and investors.

“The luxury specification of the apartments, Elevate Property Group’s trademark, has made a real impression and the broad range of apartments available in such an excellent location has really sparked interest.”

The onsite marketing suite is now open four days a week from Friday to Monday. Further information can be viewed here or call Julia Evans at smarthomes on 0121 744 4144, or email newhomes@smart-homes.co.uk
